Course Overview
The training programme involves intensive firefighting scenarios with real smoke and fire to prepare emergency response teams for real-life emergencies.
Course Objectives
Select and operate the correct firefighting equipment and media to extinguish different types of fires and secure the area
- Demonstrate breathing apparatus control board procedures
- Identify and don the appropriate emergency response personal protective equipment (PPE) required for an OERTM
- Operate, don and wearer check working duration breathing apparatus
- Participate in a incident brief
- Participate in a range of fire and non-fire related incidents under the direction of an offshore emergency response team leader (OERTL)
- Correctly select and use portable firefighting equipment
- Select, operate and flush foam firefighting equipment
- Effectively communicate with OERTLs and OERTMs during an incident
